Description

VAUT (Video Aided UT) technology for the first time introduced by Sonotron NDT in May 2016 is based on embedding live video stream data obtained from one or more cameras connected to the instrument into the real ultrasonic inspection data stream delivered by the instrumentation card to the on-board computer and followed by the storing of both data streams synchronously and inseparably into the same file. VAUT is a standard feature of ISONIC series PA and conventional instruments of 3500 series such as ISONIC 3510, ISONIC 3505, and ISONIC 3507. Over the recent five years VAUT approach was recognized by the industry among the important means increasing the integrity of ultrasonic testing and became demanded by numerous assets owners. The exemplary video below was captured at the postprocessing stage for the file recorded whilst scanning a butt weld with use of ISONIC PA EXPERT Inspection SW Application.
